To author Margaret Steele, a census record is a living, breathing snapshot in time, each holding fascinating stories waiting to be told.

During the Lunch & Learn at the Colchester Historeum from noon to 1 pm on Thursday, June 20, Steele will demonstrate in real time how to find and compile information from a census record and weave it into an interesting written narrative. Steele is the author of “The Great Boomsky: The Many Lives of Magic’s First Black Superstar,” featuring renowned Truro-based magician, Isaac Willis.

Admission is by donation or free to CHS members. Bring your lunch, sweets and refreshments provided.
