Truro Harvest

Truro Harvest Festival

September 25 – October 31, 2023

The Truro Harvest Festival is a celebration of all things autumn and harvest in Downtown Truro throughout the fall season. Our Downtown Truro businesses are working to provide opportunities for residents of Colchester County and visitors to our region to come out and enjoy our beautiful downtown. We have several key initiatives that businesses can choose to sign-up for in advance to continue to help make this festival a fun and successful annual event for our downtown.

Scarecrow Village

From September 25 – October 31, Downtown Truro will be transformed into Scarecrow Village. Businesses can create or sponsor scarecrows to help with this initiative to draw residents and visitors to the downtown core over 5 weeks this fall.

Sweater Weather

Fall Features

From September 25 – October 31, we’ll be featuring items related to autumn/fall/harvest season from businesses in Downtown Truro to encourage visitors and locals to get out and shop this fall.

Pumpkins

Pumpkin Contest

From October 20 – October 31, businesses can participate in our Pumpkin Contest by decorating or carving pumpkins to help draw residents and visitors into Downtown Truro to view all of the creations and vote on their favourites!

Event Promotion

The Truro Harvest Festival will be promoted through a variety of channels, including a custom-built event website, paid and organic social media posts from Downtown Truro and partnering organizations, newspaper, and a printed brochure which will be distributed through key locations downtown. Our key target markets for paid advertising will include residents of Colchester County, Pictou County, Cumberland County, East Hants, and the Halifax Regional Municipality.
