It would be really easy to woo you with our amazing product line. It would be too easy, really. But we don’t want to just brag about our amazing bikes.

It would be easy to brag about Rocky Mountain Bikes. No one would blame us for going on about these sleek bikes with superior suspension and incredibly responsive adjustment options that provide every rider with a perfect ride.

We don’t want to go on and on about our lineup of Louis Garneau bikes and apparel, one of Canada’s premier cycling brands providing top quality products to everyone, regardless of age or skill level.

It would be to easy to tell you all about our selection of Montreal’s Opus Bikes; a beautiful road, mountain, city and path bikes offering exceptional value to riders of all ages.

We don’t want to brag about how thrilled we are to bring Scott Bikes, one of Europe’s best series’ to Nova Scotia, with a huge range of bikes including BMX and some of the most sophisticated road and mountain bikes on the planet.

No one would be surprised to hear us brag about Pivot Cycles, a technology and performance driven company whose goal is to build the best performing cycling products in the world for every rider, from DH to road and all stops in between.

Obviously we would never boast just because we carry Ryder Distribution for general BMX parts and goods.

Much like our incredible lineup of bikes for all ages, abilities and interests, we would hate to brag about offering the best value in accessories such as Giro, Louis Garneau, Finish Line, Camelbak, Park Tool, Shimano, ODI, Saris, Oakley, Fox, ENVE and so many more.

Company History

In 2014, Jeff and Grace Simms established Bike Monkey to share their passion for cycling with their community. They wanted to build a place where individuals could find the right equipment and the right support to come together as a cycling community. Not just another bike store, Jeff and Grace wanted to provide a place where the cycling community to grow. They started the Bike Monkey Cycling Club to pursue that mission.

Jeff and Grace’s passion is evident in every inch of the store and throughout the community. Whether you need a new bike, a new part or just want to stop in and take a look, come check them out.

Jeff Simms

Jeff has been involved in cycling since he discovered the sport as a young teen in Victoria Park. He has competed in Colorado’s famous Leadville 100 mountain bike race and won Bike Nova Scotia’s mountain bike series.

Jeff is also a certified cycling coach, leading the next generation of riders. He has also coached minor hockey in Truro. Currently, Jeff plays with the Carstar Collision in the West Colchester Commercial hockey league.

Grace Simms

Even if you’ve not had the pleasure of meeting Grace directly, you’ve seen her impact on the shop and the community.

Grace is an artist and teacher with the Cobequid Educational Centre and the founder of the highly successful Art Start program in Truro. In her spare-time (which we still can’t figure out how she has) she is a co-organizer of Truro’s Art Battle. Her artistic influence can be seen throughout the shop and her attention to detail is a quality shared with the staff.

Grace and Jeff are both coaches and leaders with the Bike Monkey cycling club, leading the next generation of riders.

As parents of two young children, they understand how difficult it can be to find the time and energy to get active but they believe that cycling can be enjoyed by the entire family.

Both theirs and yours.
