Here to help make your special moments, from birthdays to engagements, graduations to anniversaries, and everything in between, extra special. Inglis Jewellers was founded in 1991 at 66 Inglis Place in Downtown Truro by Greg Johnston. What started as a small shop proudly locally owned and operated has now grown to four locations in the Maritimes. In 2007, Greg and co-owner Paul Clark (aka “The Bald Boys”) opened a store in New Glasgow, followed by Riverview, New Brunswick in 2011, and Sydney in 2019, plus an online shop.
After 25 years, Greg retired from Inglis Jewellers in 2016, with Paul taking over full ownership.
Known for its engagement rings, Inglis Jewellers has a great selection of engagement rings plus a vast selection of classic and fashion jewelry, repairs, and even custom work.

With many suppliers and fashion lines, Inglis Jewellers has 3 Canadian companies that supply their Canadian diamonds, keeping them as local as possible. “It is very important in our industry to support Canadians,” says Charlene Bagnell (Store Manager for Inglis Jewellers). “We are very proud of our staff, the products we carry and the companies that we work with. We only carry products that we can stand behind, knowing that our customers will leave the store with a good quality product.” Says Charlene.
“Being part of special occasions, whether it is a wedding or anniversary or even a get out of jail free card, to be part of those situations is absolutely beautiful and to build those relationships with the customers, and have them come back and say you helped with this engagement or set the stage for this and here is my wife, we are forever grateful for it and anyone who works here feels the same way,” says Charlene.
You could feel overwhelmed when walking into a jewellery store but not here. As you open the door to Inglis Jewellers, you are immediately greeted with a smile. It is like walking into a friend’s house, no matter the occasion or how big or small the scenario is. “With Covid-19 we want to make sure that everyone feels safe and knows that we are taking every precaution to keep them safe.” Charlene explains, “if our customers decide they want to keep their mask on, we would respect that and have ours too. We want everyone to feel welcome.”

Every customer has a story and in Inglis Jewellers they love hearing them, from changing the batteries for a watch for the grandfather who is in a nursing home, to the 50th anniversary of a couple, every customer is important to them and they strongly believe in that. You are a guest in their home and they will treat you with the utmost respect and value your time and voice.
“When customers are supporting us we are able to give back the love to our community and that’s what makes a community strong, supporting the local businesses.” Charlene tells us, “if you go to our Instagram page today, you’ll see that we just did a live video in the morning announcing a gift card giveaway.” Inglis Jewellers is always supporting events and giving back to their community.
“We are successful because of the support of our community, and the importance of giving back to that community is deeply ingrained in our business,” says Charlene. This is a true testament as they are heavily involved in the Downtown Truro community, supporting the United Way and The Colchester East Hants Health Centre, to hiding gift cards and holding giveaways on the daily, just to name a few.
