    Civic Square, 740 Prince Street Civic Square features a large, flexible open space that makes it perfect for public gatherings. Whether you take advantage of its improved lighting and integrated sound system to host a live music performance or use one of its many quiet spaces to relax with a good book, the Civic Square has something to offer everyone. In the winter, the Square even hosts an outdoor skating rink
      Truro Farmers Market, 15 Young Street Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right on the coast
    Victoria Park, 29 Park Road A natural woodland park that spans 3,000 acres and is located only minutes from downtown. The extensive trail system winds through natural gorges, waterfalls, tall trees, and inspiring look-offs.
    Marigold Cultural Centre, 605 Prince Street The Marigold Cultural Centre houses a 208-seat theatre, a small art gallery, a workshop space for arts education programming, a sports heritage hall, a boardroom, a concession area, and offices. The Centre provides a variety of cultural programming and is a major downtown focus for economic development.
    The Railyard, 627 Young Street The Railyard is a free public facility and provides mountain biking experiences for all ages. The Railyard has been designed with a variety of skill levels in mind. From the beginner pump track, easy single and double track trails, and beginner skills section, to the advanced “Callus Cut” jumplines and wallride, for more expert and advanced riders.
      Colchester Historeum, 29 Young Street The Colchester Historical Society continues to preserve and present Colchester County’s past by striving to offer an authentic and inclusive perspective of local history and culture through community and visitor engagement in its operation of the Colchester Historeum.
      The Library, 754 Prince Street Colchester-East Hants Public Library strengthens our communities by welcoming all to participate in the discovery, creation, and sharing of ideas and experiences.
    Cobequid Trail, Entrance at 202 Willow Street The Cobequid Trail is an 18-km walking and bicycling trail network in central Colchester County. Explore woodland paths and shaded brooks, and follow the rail trail from Truro to Cobequid Bay. Watch for migratory birds on the marshlands and mudflats, and view the Salmon River and salt marsh. Catch the tidal bore when it arrives twice daily.

    Seasonal Beautification Program

    The Downtown Truro Streetscape Beautification Program provides a financial incentive and aid to commercial property owners and business tenants to improve the storefront appearance of their properties through beautification efforts like additional greenery, flower boxes, seasonal signage, and seasonal exterior decor items. This program is offered in partnership with the Town of Truro.

    Applications for Summer 2024 are now Open!

    Façade Improvement Program

    The Façade and Signage Improvement Program provides funding grants to help commercial property owners and tenants make improvements to the exterior façades of their properties. The goal is to stimulate commercial building improvements, promote investment and enhance the economic vitality of Downtown Truro. This program is offered in partnership with the Town of Truro.

    Annual Santa Claus Parade

    Downtown Truro’s Annual Santa Claus Parade is an opportunity for all downtown businesses to have an exciting time. When planning and designing entries, please keep in mind that the purpose of the parade is to provide entertainment, especially for children.

    Show Your Badge

    We welcome conference and tournament participants to experience everything Downtown Truro has to offer. Attendees of approved and registered events will receive a Downtown Truro discount badge to receive special offers from participating businesses for the duration of the event.
