As part of the #ReduceSingleUseOctober campaign, each day in October we will be featuring a business who is doing their part to reduce their use this October!

Dropwise Aromatherapy does not use plastic shopping bags (and never has ) we use paper or quite often due to our small products many customers opt out of those too. We also have a bottle recycling program. You can bring in our empty bottles to either refill with the same product for a .25 discount; we will also wash bottles and sell them as used for any DIY'ers looking for inexpensive bottles; for those containers that cannot be reused customers can still bring them back and I will see that they are sent for recycling.

Thanks Dropwise Aromatherapy for reducing single use!!

Do YOUR part this month and take the pledge to #reducesingleuse. To take the pledge, go to bit.ly/2lrDUeH . All entries will be entered to win one of two great prize packages which include reusable YETI cups, straws, bags, bottles, and more!

Great British Grub has been using paper straws for the past couple of months. Last month we started to use cardboard take out boxes instead of Styrofoam, and encourage staff to use the paper sauce cups rather than the plastic ones. I have now managed to find wooden knives, forks and spoons to use instead of single use plastic ones. I am currently researching takeout soup containers and trying to find paper bags of the right size, and strength.

As you can see, we have been trying to reduce our use of single use plastics for a few months now. 😀

Thanks Great British Grub for reducing single use!!

At Enchanted Forest we pledge to: expand our selection of zero-waste products. Also this month we've switched to using wrapping paper that is both recycled and recyclable.

-use only recycled & recyclable paper bags, not plastic, and encourage the use of re-usable cloth bags
-regularly email/call our vendors and manufacturers to persuade them to minimize consumer packaging and shipping packing waste. formally unsubscribing from and refusing junk mail advertising
-email receipts, resources, etc
-have a digital rewards system, no paper stamp cards needed
-offer re-usable cloth hand towels in our bathroom rather than disposable paper towels
-focus on carrying products that fit several of the following criteria: made in North America, designed to replace disposable products and reduce waste (cloth diapers, feeding/mealtime products, menstrual products), organic, natural fibres rather than synthetics, minimally packaged or unpackaged items, designed to last through several children

Thanks Enchanted Forest for reducing single use!!
