Within Nova Scotia, there are many youth that may never get the opportunity to be exposed to sports and have the chance to compete. The “Fastest Kid in Nova Scotia” project will give the youth of Nova Scotia under the age of 18 a chance to show their special talent that may be hidden like a diamond in the rough. Participants will sprint 40m through electronic timing gates and prizes will be given out to the two fastest kids at each event location, with a grand prize of a pair of new running shoes from Aerobics First given to the two fastest kids in the province. Registration is on-site and there is no cost to participate, with all participants receiving free entry to a future Athletics NS meet. There will also be a chance to connect with a local track club for those that may be interested in pursuing the sport further.
