2023 Board Nominations

The Downtown Truro Partnership is seeking new Board Members to serve on our Board of Directors. Applicants should be invested in the growth of our downtown core and willing to help lead the organization toward success in its mission and objectives. We will be accepting Board nomination applications until Friday, May 12, 2023.

Nominees must fall into one of the following categories:

1. Own a commercial property with the Urban Regional Core (URC) of Truro, Nova Scotia.

2. Own a business located within the URC.

3. Be employed by a business located with the URC, and have consent from the business owner to represent that business as a member of the DTP Board.

To initiate, develop and promote strategies and events that position the downtown as a destination location for businesses, local residents and visitors.

Open until 5pm on Friday, May 12, 2023

Directors are elected for a minimum period of 2 years, and are eligible for re-election up to a maximum of 6 years or 3 successive terms. Directors should be comfortable working with a policy (not management) board governance model, have demonstrated their commitment to the downtown core, and capable of representing our broad interests, not just those of a specific organization or interest group.

The Downtown Truro Partnership values diversity, inclusion and equity. We are seeking Board Directors who are passionate about growing our downtown core, and have backgrounds that reflect our community.

Time Commitment Requirements

The Downtown Truro Partnership's Board of Directors meets approximately once per month. In addition to these meetings, Board Directors are expected to participate in committees and respond to regular correspondence from the Executive Director and other Board Directors.
