At the Downtown Truro Partnership, we love celebrating the businesses that make a difference in our community. We recently caught up with Joanne Bouley, Managing Associate Broker, from RE/MAX Fairlane Realty, and it was inspiring to hear about the many ways this local business has been involved in supporting not just our downtown, but the wider Truro community and beyond.
RE/MAX Fairlane’s commitment to the community is unwavering. This past October, they proudly sponsored the Downtown Truro Trick-or-Treat event. Through the RE/MAX Accessible Trick or Treating Program, the agents helped to create an accessible trick or treat village, ensuring that children and families in our community could enjoy a safe inclusive Halloween. The event is always a highlight of the season and their involvement made it extra special.
Their support for the community goes well beyond Halloween, though. RE/MAX Fairlane is a longtime supporter of the Colchester Food Network. During RE/MAX Global Week in October, the team volunteered their time packing boxes for Thanksgiving, providing much-needed food for families in need. They also took part in the community’s annual food drive, donating an impressive 450 pounds of food to support those facing food insecurity.
During the Christmas season, the RE/MAX Fairlane office became a Toy Drop-off Location for the Christmas Index Program. The team at RE/MAX Fairlane also sponsored a local family through the Program, helping to brighten the holidays for children. During Downtown Festival of Lights the RE/MAX Fairlane team opened their office and offering festive cookies and cheer to everyone who stopped by, even in the pouring rain!
In addition to their local charitable efforts, RE/MAX Fairlane Realty is part of the larger RE/MAX network that partners with the Children” Miracle Network (CMN). For every home they sell, a donation is made to the IWK Foundation in Halifax, supporting essential pediatric health services. Since 1992, RE/MAX agents across Canada have raised over $100 million for CMN, and RE/MAX Fairlane continues to contribute to this important cause. Another unique way RE/MAX Fairlane engages with the community is through their annual RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon visit to Truro each summer. When weather permits, they offer free tethered rides, giving families the chance to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the town. It’s just one more example of how they bring joy to our local residents.
